1. This is a tutorial on how to hang tennis windscreen. Nine foot windscreens are hung from the top of the ten foot chain link fence. The usual fence height is 10 feet. Other heights are not unusual. This practice allows for one foot of air space at the bottom. Thus allowing the wind to go underneath it. Six foot windscreens are placed in the center of the chain link fence, or two feet from the top.

2. Hang the windscreens so that the seams and hems are toward the fence. The smooth side shoul be facing the court. This is usually on the opposite side of the line posts.

3. All grommets must be used to secure the windscreens to the fence. First fasten one vertical edge at the desired height to the fence using regular (50 lb. breaking strength) ty-raps. Next fasten top and remaining side of windscreen to the fence with regular ty-raps. Keep the top straight by following the chain link pattern. Then, fasten the bottom with polypropylene rope. The top half of the windscreen is secured by ty-raps and the bottom half by poly rope.

4. When anti-billowing center tape is used, fasten it after top and bottom are attached. Use regular, 50 lb. breaking strength ty-raps through each grommet.

5. When high winds are expected, cut ty-raps from top, sides and center tape. Then roll windscreen down to the bottom of the fence where the heavy-duty poly ropes are attached. Tie it up to help prevent wind damage.

Six Foot Windscreens

6. On six foot windscreens, either ty-raps or lacing cord can be used. On nine foot windscreens with a flat center seam, rope the middle and then proceed to rope the entire bottom rectangle. Use ty-raps on the top portion of the screen. This will allow our warranty to be in effect.
